Clement C. McGinley, MD

Married for 45 years to Sophie (Tessitore), they have 3 children, Kelly, Shawn & Brian and four grandchildren. They are life-long residents of Jim Thorpe.

Dr. McGinley received his MD degree from Penn State University (Milton S. Hershey Medical Center) in 1976 and completed a Family Practice Residency at the Temple University, Allentown-Affiliated Family Practice Residency in 1979. He was Board Certified in Family Practice and Sports Medicine and practiced medicine in Jim Thorpe for 33 years before retiring in 2012.

In the past Dr. McGinley was the Medical Director of St. Luke’s Miners Hospital; Blue Mountain Health System (Palmerton & Gnaden Huetten Hospitals); St. Luke’s Physician Group (Northern Section); Lehigh Valley Hospice (Carbon- Schuylkill); St. Luke’s Hospice (Carbon-Schuylkill); The Mauch Chunk Medical Center and St, Luke’s Urgent Care – Jim Thorpe. During his career he taught medical residents, medical students, physician assistants and nurse practitioners from various institutions – Penn State University, Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, Kings College, College Misericordia, etc.

Currently, he is the President of the Jim Thorpe Rotary (2014 -2017); on the Board of Directors of the Jim Thorpe Lion’s Club; a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians; Chairman of the Immaculate Conception Parish Financial Council and a lector and Eucharistic Minister in the Parish. He is also involved in several other community activities.

In 2000 Dr. McGinley was the Panther Valley Irishman of the Year and in 2005 was the Grand Marshall of the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Jim Thorpe). He and Sophie were the Carbon county Chairpersons of the 2011 Bishops Annual Appeal.
